eParticipation in Scotland
Categories: Uncategorized
Last November the then Napier University ( now re-named as Edinburgh Napier ) hosted a workshop on eParticipation in Scotland.
Ella Taylor-Smith has just published this report so we now have a baseline.
The definition of eParticipation used for the workshop was:
“using technology (especially the Internet) to broaden and deepen political participation by helping citizens to connect with one another and with their elected representatives and governments.”
With no elections to Holyrood or Westminster this year, perhaps the extent of eParticipation is unlikely to explode before June’s European elections.
Does anyone have examples of eParticipation that they wish to share or publicise ? Do your elected representatives connect with you ?
